I’ve always had an underlying fascination with jewelry. I think it started as a result of the beautiful and unique pieces in my mother’s jewelry box. She’s always had interesting taste in jewelry, and I’ve never seen her without a pair of earrings, a necklace, a ring, or a bracelet. Some of the most striking pieces she owns include a brooch in the lithe shape of a panther and two pendants: a miniature Viking long-ship showcasing the most exquisite detail and a dainty mermaid that harks back to the statue of Hans Christian Anderson’s Little Mermaid in Copenhagen, Denmark.
My fascination for jewelry has been bolstered by some of the pieces I’ve received over the years: a tortoise pendant carved from marble, an amber orb set in a silver spiral, a piece of genuine Murano glass jewelry from Italy, a pair of freshwater pearl earrings, and finally, my engagement ring, which my husband had specially designed for me using a diamond from my mother’s collection.
In 2022, I was given the opportunity to write for ICONIC, an e-commerce site turned online magazine. Since then, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge about various gemstones and jewelry – knowledge that I aim to share with you.
When I’m not writing for the website, you can find me upside down on my Yoga mat or at my desk with a sketchbook and a pencil in hand. I’m also an avid reader, gamer, and tea drinker.
